Migraines

Migraines are chronic conditions, characterized by recurring headaches and are associated with symptoms of the autonomic nervous system.

 

 

 

In the related symptoms may include nausea, photophobia, phonophobia, vomiting and headache.

The exact causes are not known, but hereditary predisposition and various neurovascular causes do play a role.

However, it is known that the concentration of serotonin in the blood falls during the migraine and triggers the release of substances called neuropeptides, which cause headaches.

 

 

 

The migraines are due to a mixture of factors and the following diseases may be responsible:

• Hormones, especially the estrogens. Many women experience migraines at the beginning of the period.

• Foods and beverages such as red wine, chocolate, some cheeses, aspartame, coffee. Also, for some people during fasting.

• Intense lights, noises and smells
• Insomnia, or a change in sleep habits

• Jet lag
• Intense physical fatigue
• Changes in weather
• Some medicines.
